Prototype


I've never written a dev log so I'm not sure how to start.

I made a prototype for a platformer! I've made some platformer prototypes in Unity and  GameMaker, but this is the first one I made in Godot. 

I'm not sure what kind of game it will be in the end, but there is a playable character and a few enemies to start. I made a little ghost sprite for the character. I was originally going to use an image of Ghost Detective from my first game "Ghost Stories: Case of the Lost Skeleton" but my physics felt of with such a large sprite.

The original Ghost Detective model was created in Blender, so I tried re-rendering a low res version. It worked a bit better but the size was still too big for the current physics.

In the end I just made a new ghost sprite. I tried making the detective hat at this size but I couldn't get it to look right.

For now I'm happy with the sprite, but I miss the hat. I might try adding it again eventually but it's fine for now.

Currently the game has a player that can walk around, jump, double jump, wall slide, wall jump, crouch, and bounce off of springs and enemies. It also has two enemies, moving platforms, slopes, a health bar, and room/level changing.
